We believe that all children should be treated with equity and that the cultural, linguistic, and religious diversity of families and children should be embraced and acknowledged. We believe in providing an environment that is secure, caring, loving, nurturing and anti-biased. We strive to create a homelike environment that is warm and welcoming.
Huntlee caters for 164 children a day aged between 6 weeks to 6 years. We are open 52 weeks a year and offer wonderful care and educational experiences. We respect the traditional custodians that our centre lays on. The traditional lands of the Wonnaruah people are located in the Hunter Valley area of New South Wales. According to the Wonnarua dreamtime the Hunter Valley was created by the great spirit, Baime (Byamee). Before Baime there was nothing, everything was sleeping. Baime awoke and created everything, the mountains, plains, rivers and every living thing.
Huntlee is a sub division located in an area called Branxton. Branxton is a small township in the Cessnock shire situated on the New England Highway between Maitland and Singleton. It has several older buildings which reflect the fact that it emerged in the early to mid-19th century as the Hunter Valley was opened up beyond Maitland. It used to suffer from endless trucks roaring through from Sydney to Brisbane but now, having been bypassed, there is time to admire the historic buildings and wander around the town before heading south to the Hunter Valley vineyards.
